Responsible Gambling

Gambling is meant to be an enjoyable activity — not a source of financial stress, anxiety or harm. 888wan is committed to giving every user the information, tools and support they need to stay in control. This page explains our responsible gambling framework and how Pakistani users can access every safeguard we offer.

This Platform Is for Adults Only

888wan is strictly for users aged 18 or above, or the higher minimum age required by the operator's licence jurisdiction. There are no exceptions. If you are under the required age, please do not register, access or use this Platform in any capacity. Local laws in Pakistan — including the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977 — may further restrict online gambling regardless of age. Users are solely responsible for verifying the lawfulness of their participation under applicable local law.

What Responsible Gambling Means

Responsible gambling means making informed, conscious choices about how, when and how much you gamble — and stopping before gambling causes harm to you, your finances or the people around you. It is not about being a cautious gambler; it is about being an informed one.

Whether you are placing a bet on a Pakistan versus India T20 match, following a PSL fixture in real time or spinning a few rounds on your lunch break in Karachi — responsible gambling is about keeping it fun, keeping it affordable and keeping it in its proper place in your life.

888wan builds responsible gambling tools directly into the account dashboard — not hidden away in settings menus, not triggered only after a problem is already visible. Every tool described on this page is available to you from the moment you register.

Our Commitment: 888wan will never pressure you to increase deposit limits, dismiss a self-exclusion request or discourage you from using any responsible gambling tool. Player welfare is not a compliance checkbox — it is a core part of how we operate.
Principle 01
Gambling Is Entertainment, Not Income

Treat every session as a leisure activity with a fixed entertainment budget — not as a strategy to generate income or recover financial losses. The house edge means that over the long run, the operator will always hold a statistical advantage.

Principle 02
Set Limits Before You Start

Decide your maximum deposit, loss and session time before you log in — not in the middle of a session. Decisions made when you are engaged in play are less reliable than decisions made with a clear head before you start.

Principle 03
Never Chase Losses

Increasing your bets or depositing more money to recover a loss is one of the most reliable signs that gambling is shifting from leisure to problem behaviour. If you catch yourself thinking "just one more deposit to get even" — that is the moment to stop.

Principle 04
Take Regular Breaks

Use session time reminders to break your play into manageable periods. Step away, assess how you feel about your session, and return only if it is still enjoyable and within your planned budget. Fatigue and prolonged play increase impulsive decision-making.

Principle 05
Keep Gambling Separate from Daily Finances

Never gamble with money set aside for rent, groceries, utility bills or any other essential expense. Set your gambling budget from discretionary income only — money you can genuinely afford to lose without any impact on your household or family.

Your Responsible Gambling Tools

Every one of these tools is built into your 888wan account dashboard. They are available from your first login — no support ticket required, no waiting period to activate them.

How to Access These Tools: Log in to your 888wan account, navigate to Account Settings and select the Responsible Gambling section. All tools listed above are accessible there. If you experience any difficulty accessing these controls, contact our support team immediately at [email protected] — do not wait.

Warning Signs to Watch For

Problem gambling does not always look dramatic. It often develops gradually — a slightly larger deposit here, a slightly later session there — until it quietly becomes a source of real harm. Recognising the early signs is far easier than addressing a deeply embedded pattern.

The questions below reflect commonly used self-assessment criteria used by responsible gambling organisations. If you recognise two or more of the following in your own behaviour, we strongly encourage you to use the cool-off or self-exclusion tool and seek support.

Important: Answering honestly to yourself costs nothing. Recognising a problem early gives you the most options to address it. You do not need to reach a crisis point before seeking help.

Spending more than you planned. You set a budget before the session but consistently end up depositing more than you intended once you are playing.

Chasing losses. After a losing session, your immediate thought is to deposit again and bet more aggressively to recover the money you lost.

Gambling to escape or relieve stress. You find yourself turning to gambling as a way to cope with work pressure, relationship issues, financial worries or other stressors — rather than as straightforward entertainment.

Lying about your gambling. You conceal the amount of time or money you spend gambling from family members, friends or colleagues.

Borrowing money to gamble. You use credit, loans or money borrowed from family to fund gambling sessions — or to cover debts that arose from gambling.

Neglecting responsibilities. Gambling is taking priority over work, family obligations, health or other important areas of your life in ways that are causing visible consequences.

Unsuccessful attempts to cut down. You have tried to reduce or stop gambling on your own but find yourself returning despite genuine intention to stop.

Quick Self-Check

The following questions are adapted from responsible gambling self-assessment frameworks used internationally. They are provided for self-reflection only — this is not a clinical diagnostic tool. Read each question honestly and consider your answer before moving to the next.

If you answer "Yes" or "Sometimes" to three or more questions, we strongly encourage you to activate a cool-off period or self-exclusion immediately and to contact a support resource for guidance. Acting early makes a significant difference to outcomes.

Confidential: Your responses to this self-assessment are for your own reflection. They are not submitted to 888wan or stored anywhere. Use them honestly.
01

Have you ever spent more money on gambling than you could comfortably afford to lose?
This includes dipping into savings, bill money, or funds set aside for essential household expenses in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad or wherever you are based.

02

Do you think about gambling when you are not playing?
For example: planning your next session during work hours, mentally calculating how to recover a loss, or feeling distracted because you want to place a bet.

03

Have you ever tried to stop or reduce your gambling and found it difficult?
Difficulty cutting down — even when you genuinely want to — is a significant warning sign that gambling may be affecting you beyond the level of controlled leisure.

04

Have you ever gambled to escape a problem or relieve feelings of anxiety, depression or frustration?
Using gambling as an emotional coping mechanism is a recognised risk factor for developing problem gambling over time.

05

Have you ever hidden or lied about your gambling activity to someone close to you?
Concealment — even minor understatement of the time or money involved — often indicates that on some level you already recognise the activity has crossed a line.

06

Has gambling ever caused conflict in your relationships, financial difficulty or problems at work?
When gambling starts producing consequences in other areas of life — not just your account balance — that is a clear signal to pause and seek support.

Getting Help — You Are Not Alone

If you feel that gambling is no longer under your control, the most important step is to reach out. Help is available, and seeking it early is always the right decision.

Self-Exclude on 888wan

The fastest immediate step. Log in to your account, go to Responsible Gambling settings and activate self-exclusion. Your account is blocked immediately. Contact support if you need help doing this.

Contact Our Support Team

Email [email protected] with "Self-Exclusion Request" or "Responsible Gambling Support" in the subject line. Our team will process your request promptly without challenge or delay.

Talk to Someone You Trust

Telling a trusted family member or friend about a gambling concern is one of the most effective steps you can take. Isolation tends to make problem gambling worse; honest conversation tends to make it better.

Professional Counselling

Qualified mental health and addiction counsellors can provide structured support for gambling-related concerns. If you are in Pakistan, ask your general physician for a referral to an addiction support specialist in your city.

About Support Resources in Pakistan:

Structured, publicly funded gambling support services are not yet widely established in Pakistan. If you are struggling with problem gambling, consider reaching out to a licensed mental health professional or addiction counsellor in your city — including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan or Peshawar. Private counselling practices offering addiction support are available in most major cities. Your general physician can provide a referral. For users accessing 888wan through an internationally licensed operator, the licence jurisdiction may also publish its own recognised responsible gambling support resources — these are available on the operator's support pages.

Protecting Young People

888wan operates a strict adults-only platform. Age verification is carried out as part of the KYC process for all registered users. If a user is found to be below the minimum eligible age, their account is suspended immediately and any funds involved are reviewed in accordance with operator policy.

If you share a device with younger family members in your household — in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar or anywhere else in Pakistan — we strongly recommend that you use device-level parental control software to restrict access to gambling websites when your device is being used by minors.

Always log out of your 888wan account when you are finished with a session, particularly on shared or family devices. Do not allow younger family members to access your Account credentials or device while you are logged in.

Suspected Underage Access: If you believe a minor has accessed the Platform through your account or independently, contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will act on the report without delay.
Device Parental Controls

Both Android and iOS devices include built-in parental controls under Settings. Enable screen time restrictions and content filters on any device that minors in your household regularly use.

Browser-Level Filtering

Most popular browsers — including Chrome, Firefox and Safari — support content filtering extensions or settings that can block gambling websites at the browser level on a shared computer.

Keep Credentials Private

Never save your 888wan username or password in a browser on a shared device. Use a unique password that younger family members could not easily guess. Enable two-factor authentication on your account.

Always Log Out

Make logging out of your 888wan account a habit after every session — not just on shared devices, but on all devices. A session left open is an unnecessary security risk for you and those around you.
